La Haine

Hey again everybody, sorry it’s been so long since my last post I’m going to try much harder to post more regularly from now on I promise 🙂

I decided to put a few ink portraits I’ve been doing just to tide you over until I get going with the next special effects project … I started to do a zombie make-up but the friend I used as a model had to move away from the area before I had chance to complete it but I will post the work that I did manage to do in another post. It’s all practice right?

Anyway …

The first portrait I’m posting is actually a drawing I did a long time as a personal commission. It’s a scene from the French movie La Haine where a very young Vincent Cassell’s character is impersonating Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver in his bathroom mirror … It’s a really great, powerful movie so if you haven’t seen it, definitely check it out. Hope you like it 🙂

  1. Is there anyway that you can post it without the watermark? I SOOO want to print this out and put it up on my wall!
By far, the most visceral and memorable scene for me in the film. GJ.

    1. Hey Ben,
Thanks so much for the kind words about my work! The film is absolutely amazing, I’m really proud how this drawing turned out.
I had to put the watermarks on my drawings because I try to sell my work as prints. I’m sure you can appereciate the drawings take many hours of time and work. If you are able to wait a little while I am going to put all my work for sale as prints in my own shop which will be at very reasonable prices. You can also purchase it now on my deviantART pages at http://britzombiegirl.deviantart.com/ if you’re interested?
I hope you understand and huge thanks again for checking out and appreciating my drawing 🙂

  2. Just so you know, “Parlez-vous de moi ?” is a very formal way of asking “Do you talk about me ?”
“You talkin to me ?” would be more like “C’est à moi qu’tu parles ?” which, if I remember correctly, is actually what Cassel says in that scene.
    Regards, A.

    1. Sorry I’ve taken so long to reply, my blog has been a little neglected of late. Thanks so much for that! I wasn’t at all sure what the actual translation would be for that scene and will change it as soon as possible 🙂
